Guidelines for students

The 22nd Convocation of Manipal University, Manipal is scheduled on May 21, 2016. Given below are certain important guidelines for students to follow for smooth conduct of the Convocation. Students are requested to read them carefully and adhere to the instructions.
Day and Date :  Saturday, 21st May 2016.
Venue – Dr TMA Pai International Convention Centre, MG Road, Mangaluru, 575005, Karnataka.
Time – 5.00 pm – 8.00 pm

Awarding Degrees

Registration

In order to participate in Convocation, you must register not later than May 05, 2016.  Eligible students who want to receive their degrees at the Convocation are required to submit their application online.
Visit the Convocation Website for Online Registration : http://convocation.manipal.edu
Offline applications will NOT be accepted. Students who have already collected their degree certificates in absentia are not eligible to receive the degree at this Convocation.  Students who have successfully completed course requirements will be eligible to register online.
Online registration will be deactivated on 5th May 2016 at 5.00 pm
 Visa for Parents
Students who require a letter signed by the college for their parents to obtain visa to attend the Convocation ceremony shall complete the Form for Visa which is available in the Convocation website.  The letter will be provided to only those students who have graduated and are eligible to receive the degree at this Convocation.  Filled up applications have to be sent to Heads of their respective colleges.

 Live Webcast

Live webcast of the ceremony will also be arranged on the University website on the day of Convocation.
Instructions for Awardees
Reporting:  Awardees are hereby advised to report one day prior to the convocation or on the day of the Convocation to complete formalities at the institutional level.
On the day of the Convocation ceremony awardees must collect their ceremonial gown by showing their confirmed registration e-mail at the respective counters made available at the Convention Centre, as mentioned below :

a)    Awardees shall assemble at the venue by 3.30 pm on the day of the convocation and meet their respective institution coordinators to confirm their participation.
b)    Convocation procession will start at 5.00 pm.
c)    All awardees including Ph.D’s / Gold Medalists / Super- Specialty awardees are to be seated before start of the procession.
d)    Seating plan will be displayed at the venue. Stickers having details of awardees names and registration numbers will be pasted on the designated chairs.
e)    While awarding the degrees, awardees should line up in the proper order to ensure minimum loss of time.
f)     Dinner will start soon after the function.
g)    If you are unable to attend the Convocation after registration process, kindly send a mail to institution concerned and obtain the confirmation of the cancellation.
Parents & Guests
Parents and guests are requested to be  seated at the Convocation Auditorium 30 minutes before the commencement of the Convocation ceremony at 5.00 pm. at the designated area.
Photographs
Manipal University’s official photographers will take pictures of the entire ceremony. The photographs will be uploaded on the Convocation website within three days after the Convocation.
