A student at the Taylor’s School of Computing & IT receives scholarship award from Hilti

Teoh Joo Fong, a student enrolled in Taylor’s University School of Computing & IT, was recently awarded a scholarship with top global technology company
Teoh Joo Fong has earned a Hilti Scholarship Award for his higher education after his captivating performance at the Hilti Big Data Analytics International Competition recently. He is currently pursuing his degree in the Bachelor of Computer Science (Hons) (Computer Security and Forensics) at the School of Computing & IT, Taylor’s University. In the duration of his academic studies from 2015 to 2018, Joo Fong will have an opportunity to receive industry-mentoring, as well as gain working skills and soft skills fit for the industry’s needs. He has also secured an internship, and a permanent employment contract upon completion of his studies.
“We are proud and honoured of Hilti’s recognition in Joo Fong and to initiate a scholarship which has secured his future to carve a successful career,” said Professor Dr. Hiew Pang Leang, Dean, School of Computing & IT, “The School is thankful for the close collaboration and support from multi-national companies like Hilti and many others.”
Representatives from Hilti first recognised Joo Fong at their home-ground during the Hilti Big Data Analytics International Competition, where his team was shortlisted in the top seven in the finals. During an interview with the potential employer, Joo Fong demonstrated exemplary skills in communication, forwrd thinking, leadership qualities and humility.
“I am thrilled to have been given this opportunity by Hilti to pursue my education and hope to learn and grow with the company during my internship and begin my career with them,” said Joo Fong.
